Hey everyone! Just a couple of the very first pictures of the pregnancy... a couple of my belly and the pregnancy test.
So for right now it just appears that I have had a few too many doughnuts heheh but I can definitely see a difference. It's strange cause the top part of my stomach near my ribs looks exactly the same but right near by belly button it's getting kind of pointy looking. So glad Dan thought of taking a picture of the pregnancy test... he's always thinking ahead :)
Quick update for today... feeling extremely dizzy since I got up this morning and am trying to take it easy till it goes away. Was hoping to get a CrossFit Mom workout in but it's looking like I might need to postpone that till I feel better. If you're interested in the kinds of workouts I've been doing here is the CrossFit Mom website http://crossfitmom.com/. I can still do most CrossFit workouts at this point since it's still early in the pregnancy but I have scaled back my intensity quite a bit. I make sure I take breaks to catch my breath and don't push myself too hard. Also have decreased the weight I use by about 50% for most lifts. So for now I don't follow the CrossFit Mom page day by day since I still like to make up my own workouts or workout with the group occasionally. That's about it for now! Hope you're all having a great day and I'll talk to you soon!

Welcome to Our Pregnancy Blog!
Just wanted to write a quick post to let you guys know that I am working on getting a video camera so that I can do weekly updates in video format so that you guys can get a better feel for how the pregnancy is going and so you can all see my huge belly that I'm sure I'll be getting :)
As for right now I'll give a quick update...
We found out we were pregnant on July 14th with a home pregnancy test... can not tell you how excited we were when we found out! Dan's face was priceless. We followed that up with another pregnancy test to verify it at my PCM here on Pope Air Force Base. That one came back positive too! This is about the time that it really hit me that I was pregnant. Before this time I felt like it was just a really good dream but it didn't feel real. As for symptoms up to this point... we had been on a week long trip to Florida / Disney World right before we tested and every evening of the trip I was in bed and asleep by about 7:30 or 8:00 pm hehe. I like to go to bed early and everything but not that early! So that was a little odd. I also had really really bad cramps every night we were gone pretty much but no bleeding at all (sorry if this is tmi for some of you... I have a feeling this will be happening a lot)... they were very painful though. I also started to have food aversions and only wanted to eat certain types of foods. At this point I had already missed my period and was starting to think I might actually be pregnant. Not wanting to get our hopes up though we tried to wait it out and not get too excited about it for another week or so after we got home from Florida... this did not last long! We got home on Saturday and by Tuesday I broke down and told Dan that I wanted to test. I figured if I already had missed it should definitely come back positive if I really am pregnant. Sure enough... I'm in the bathroom covering my eyes... wanting to see the results but not wanting to at the same time and then I saw Dan's face light up as he grabbed the stick and hid it behind his back heheh not sure if that was to hide it from me or from himself cause he couldn't believe it. Then we just laughed and laughed for the longest time out of disbelief that it had actually came back positive... we were so happy! That night Dan made manicotti for me as a celebratory dinner... it was good (things always taste better when someone else makes it for you I think)! So that's how it started... from there it has just been taking one day at a time to let it sink in. Today it is July 30th and as far as symptoms and everything else goes I usually have nausea in the afternoon from about lunch time to dinner time... it stinks but as long as I eat what sounds good (within reason) I usually end up feeling pretty good. If I try and make myself eat something that sounds awful to me but try and eat it because it's healthy I almost always end up feeling even worse and can't finish whatever it is I am eating. I have been getting up about 3 times in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom every night... I'm sure Dan loves that! I have been having a difficult time sleeping and have restless legs most nights. Just yesterday I realized the my stomach is starting to stick out... I don't mind though because it's nice to see changes and let's me know that there is a baby in there that's growing :) Cravings have been interesting and let me tell you they are so REAL! I always thought that they were just kind of an excuse to eat bad stuff but for me I know that whatever I am craving will make my stomach feel better if I eat it. The other night it was a wonderful combination (not all together) of green olives, hummus and pita chips, chocolate pb banana protein shake, half of a chocolate chip muffin and a slice of toast with peanut butter. Ridiculous... I know! But I can't tell you how much better my stomach felt afterwards. So I've been trying to follow my instincts about what to eat and not forcing myself to eat stuff that I know will make my stomach feel bad... even if it is healthier unfortunately :( At this point I'm just trying to keep the sick feeling under control. As some of you know before I found out I was pregnant Dan and I were doing a Paleoish - Zone type way of eating... as you can see I have given up some of what we were doing just for the simple fact that I can't stomach it :( I'll go into that more in a later post. First prenatal appointment was July 28th... not much happened at that appointment just a lot of questions, a LOT of blood taken and a urine sample. But we have our first ultrasound on August 13th which I am VERY excited about and our second prenatal appointment on August 20th. Those dates seem so far away but I'm just going to keep taking it one day at a time and I'm sure they'll be here before I know it :)
Sorry this was so long... will try and do video updates from now on so you won't have to read so much!
Love you guys and I will update again soon!

p.s. I would like to thank Ryan for messaging me randomly yesterday asking "Are you preggers?" followed by "I can smell it on you"! Hehe and he is all the way in Arizona. Too funny... definitely made my day :)
